Friday Five 6/19/09

It's time for the "Friday Five" where I say five random things about anything I want!:)

1. This week was VBS at Henderson Hills Baptist Church. I LOVE this church! It's a large church, but the more I get involved with bible studies, small groups & VBS every year, I get to know more people or a least recognize their faces. We ALWAYS love VBS! It is a great time for the girls & I really enjoy working with different people every year & get to know them. I got to work with Brandi Vincent who is really nice. I enjoyed getting to know her & chatting with her.

I love working with the kids! They are so sweet & I love to see them listening to the bible stories, sing praises to God & filling their hearts & mind with God's word!

It was a busy week, but we had a great week!

2. I've decided that I need to be more disciplined about exercising! My husband is "obsessed" with the gym! I wish I had a little more drive to work out. I find it hard to find the time. But I'm going to try!

3. Next Wednesday, June 24, will be Scott & my 9th year wedding anniversary. I can't believe we have been married that long & we have been together for 11 years! There are times he drives me CRAZY, but I know that HE is the ONLY man for me & I don't know what I would do without him!

4. I can't wait until my sister has her baby! Tori will be 31 weeks on Monday! She & Russ are going to a birthing class tomorrow! It should be an "eye opening" experience! She may decide that Sadie can just stay in there!:)

One time someone said to me "They are easier in, then they are out" I thought that was a horrible thing to say to a pregnant woman!! (But now I know what she meant!)

5. We are busier in the summer than we are during the school year! We have something to do every Saturday until August 1st! We have THREE baby showers, birthday parties, vacations, births of babies... busy, busy, busy! (& with all that, I'm trying to potty train Caraline!!)

I find rest in the Lord!!:)

Elwyn's 70th birthday

June 18th is Scott's dad, Elwyn's, 70th birthday. We wanted to celebrate! Scott's mom invited 60 people over to the house for a cook out on Saturday June 13th. I think we counted a little over 40 people came to help us celebrate. It was like a family reunion! Lots of people we hadn't seen in a long time & a few I wasn't sure I knew.

I didn't get too many pictures because I was having to run around after Caraline since she thinks she can do everything the bigger kids can do!

We all had a great time!

The Lion King

Scott surprised me on my birthday by getting me tickets to see the Lion King performace in Oklahoma City. I was so excited to see it! I always wanted to see it because I thought the costumes would be amazing...and I was NOT dissappointed!! It was incredible!! I've been to MANY performaces, but never one so impressive as Lion King!! People not only clapped, but whooped & hollered after the opening number & the curtain drop! It was amazing! I was left speechless!! I now wish that we would have brought Lydia to see it too....hopefully it will come back soon & we will take the girls! We will be awe-struck! I know I was!

I loved it so much that I paid $25 for a Lion King T-shirt! I've never bought a shirt at a performace before! That's how awesome it was!

BRAVO, Disney's Lion King! Well done!! The costumes were breath-taking!!

Lydia's last days of preschool

Lydia's last day of preschool at Peace was May 20th. She loved every minute of preschool & Ms. Marsha was the best preschool teacher we could have asked for!! She made coming to school & learning so fun & exciting! We were really glad she was part of Lydia's school experience! next year Lydia will go back to Peace preschool for Pre-K & she'll have Ms Terry. At first, Lydia was not so sure about that...she wanted to have Ms Marsha again, but I told her she would still see Ms Marsha & could say hi to her.

I thought Lydia may be a little sad to leave her friends...it was a little bittersweet for me, but Lydia didn't seem to mind. I think she was glad to be home for a while.

Touch a truck

The Edmond MOM's club has held a "touch a truck" event for the last 2 years. Last year was the first & we really enjoyed it. This was the second year & man, had it grown! There were twice as many trucks to crawl in, honk the horn, sit on & in. It was awesome! My girls really enjoyed every truck!

Lydia's first movie experience!

On Saturday April 25, 2009, Scott & I took Lydia to her first moive, Earth, at the Harkin's Theater in Bricktown.

Lydia was very excited & so was I! She LOVED it! The movie was AMAZING! In was a hour & a half long, & she got a little "antsy" after about an hour, but over all she did great!
