Friday's Five (Feb. 24th, 2012)

1. February is a "birthday month" in the Boyle house! My birthday is the 15th & Scott 's is the 22nd. This year we are 36 & 41. Scott & I had a get together with "the regular suspects": Cox's, Churchwell's, & Rosacker families. We had great food, Mary made a yummy cake for our birthdays & the kids played Wii ALL night!:)

2. This has been such a mild winter! I'm itching to get back behind the camera!! I have a new 50mm lens & I'm learning more about my Paintshop Pro editing program. I love looking at other photographers & using some of they are willing to share!:)

3. I loved the pictures I got of the girls for Valentine's day! They did a good job of listening to me!:) (That is usually a problem)

4. I LOVE the library! I have 60 books & magazines checked out right now!! I need to get Caraline her own card so I can get more!! I have a rolling crate for all my books & at times, it's not big enough!

5. We went to a Murder Mystery FLOCK social this month. Scott & I were nerds! Mary's character was Scott's character's sister.....& Scott was the MURDER VICTIM!!! And to top it off, MARY killed him!! So funny & so much fun!

Friday's five (2/3)

1. HI. my name is Katy & I'm addicted to Pinterest! OMGoodness! I'm hooked! I pin more than I do the things on there!! I have duplicate pins! I LOVE holidays & there are SO many great things you can do, make, for teachers, your kiddos, yourself for the holidays.....I always have good intentions but my days get away from me!!! I made mailboxes for the girls for Valentine's day, I planned on writing notes everyday for them, but it's already the 3rd!!

2. I NEED to exercise more & lose weight!! I would like to do another 5k or a mile run with Caraline. She has really been wanting to do one.

3. I've been thinking that I may start videoing myself doing things like cooking, cleaning out the closet, applying makeup & posting it. That would be funny!

4. Caraline & I ran errends this morning in 40 minutes!! We went to 6 different places in Edmond in 40 minutes! That is unheard of! We went to the bank, Family Dollar, the library, Dollar jewlery, Everything's a dollar & the post office. We counted to 100 in every place we were in. We tried to be in one place for 100 seconds. :) Caraline did a very good job counting!

5. I canceled my One True Media.com membership. I've made a lot of slide shows there. I hadn't used it in about a year. I have to check in every 60 days in order to keep the slide shows! I NEED to remember that!

Wordless Wednesday

Chronicles of the King is a series by Lynn Austin. It has 5 books in the series. They are about King Hezekiah. I'm not into biblical fiction, but on the first page of the first book "Gods & Kings" I was sucked in & I couldn't put it down!!
Recently in FLOCK, we had a lesson on Hezekiah & a lot of people were very interested. This book series brought that era in time alive to me!
I highly recommend this book series!

Friday Five - January 27th, 2012

My friend Mary (in the gray) is a dancing machine!!

1. Today is my dear friend, Mary's 36th birthday!! Love that girl!

2. "Reasons to love your local library # 682": MAGAZINES!! I borrowed 8 magazines from the library the other day. A scrapbooking one, Weight Watchers mag, US weekly, Simple Living, Martha Stewart, Fitness Mag. I can look at past issues, write down tips if I want & return the magazines & they won't pile up in the corner of the living room AND the best part: I spend $0.00!!
Priceless!!

3. Lydia is selling Girl Scout cookies! We sold all I had & needed to fill more orders in a week!

4. I've have a library book that is a week overdue because I NEED to finish it or I never will!! I still have 200 pages left.....it may cost me $2 or $3 in overdue fees!!:)

5. My girls are loving "Camp Rock" & "Camp Rock 2"!! It is the first movie that I consider "tween" & so it is a little sad that they aren't little anymore, but I know it is a new phase that is here for a while. They love to dance & sing with the songs!! (I like it too!)

If you give Caraline a Penny

You know those books, "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" or "If you give a pig a pancake"? Well, I've made up a version of my own called "If you give Caraline a Penny" Everytime she sees ANY money laying around, she MUST go put it in her piggy bank. She is easily distracted!
So enjoy:

If you give Caraline a Penny

If you give Caraline a Penny,
She'll want to go put it in her piggy bank
Her piggy bank will remind her that she had a picture of a pig to color.
She will run to the kitchen table to color her pig picture & she'll get hungry.
She'll ask you for a snack.
You will make her some toast. She will want to help you.
So you tell her she can get out the butter.
The butter will remind her that last week at Girl Scouts, she learned to make butter.
She'll want to make her own butter from scratch like they used to in the old days.
Thinking of the old days, she'll talk about Grandpa & Grandma & want to go see them.
So you take her to Grandpa & Grandma's farm.
While on Grandpa & Grandma's farm, she'll see cows. But no pigs.
So she will wonder why Grandma & Grandpa don't have pigs on their farm.
So she'll run in the house to ask them.
As she runs in, she sees some pennies on the kitchen table & thinking about pigs & pennies, she'll think about her piggy bank!
She'll pick up the pennies & want to put them in her piggy bank!

I made this story up "on the fly" to Caraline & I've never heard a more genuine laugh come out of her I as I did when she heard that story!!
I promised her I would write it down.
Now I have to think of one about Lydia......

Wordless (kind of) Wednesday

On Monday, we went to see my grandparents in Pawnee. We don't get over there very often & Grandpa is sad when he doesn't have company. Before we leave, we ALWAYS take a picture with Grandpa & Grandma. Some of the girls were there (missing Jaylee, Keilee, Kendra, Melissa & Addy) but we still got all the girls in the picture plus our newest member, Amber's son, Cagle.
Kynzie is not one for pictures & it was no small task to have EVERYONE smiling a good smile & then Kynzie shows her "true colors":) Aunt Ginny & I thought it was SO FUNNY!! Perfect!
